Hi Reader As we step well into September, I want to share something that weighs on my heart, especially during this time of year: Emotional Labor. The transition from summer to fall would bring a familiar whirlwind of emotions and responsibilities that left me feeling not just busy, but bone-deep tired. It’s that exhaustion that sneaks up on you at the end of the day—not the good kind that comes from meaningful accomplishments, but a weariness that feels heavy and unrelenting. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running a marathon in quicksand, you’re not alone. In my monthly blog, I explore the invisible labor many carry—so often unacknowledged—yet crucial to the fabric of our daily lives. I'm hoping it gives you a little more solace and understanding along the way and why it can be so easy to feel dazed and worn. If you read my post, Our Emotional Labor Daze and How It Steals Our Joy (And Time), I'll share a process that has increased my ability to enjoy life and become more present, daily. It has also helped me choose to be more proactive in scheduling, too. Details are shared when you head over to my blog to discover more about the hidden emotional labor we all carry and my strategy to lighten the load for ourselves. Or, if time is at a premium, simply gain access to the Think-Sift-Shift Process by clicking the highlighted link, shared in Mariah Faith's Slacker Hack Podcast earlier this year. DeShawn P.S. October is bringing some spine-tingling developments that I can't wait to share! |

Not because something is wrong with them. Because they're wired for authenticity — not conformity. In my early 30s something shifted when I started getting curious about my choices. I looked around at what people my age wanted — marriage, children, the expected milestones — and realized...
Greatness and honor to our GOD in the highest heaven and peace on earth among men ... DeShawn

Shopping, wrapping, meal planning, card writing, coordinating, baking, managing family dynamics—all while running on fumes and wondering why you can't just enjoy "the most wonderful time of the year." Here's what I need to tell you: The voice in your head is making it worse. The Invisible Weight You're Carrying Every time you think "I'm not doing enough" or "I must please everyone," you're adding a 50-pound weight to everything you're...
