Hi Reader A special welcome to those of you who just completed the Boo to Burnout Bundle! I'm so glad you're here and continuing this journey with us. You've already taken important steps toward more mindfulness and presence—and what comes next is just as important. I'm writing to you in early November, which means we're standing at the edge of what's about to become a very full season. Thanksgiving 🦃. Holiday gatherings 🎄. End-of-year work deadlines 📊. Gift lists 🎁. Travel plans ✈️. Family dynamics 👨👩👧👦. All the expectations—the ones others place on us...and the ones we place on ourselves. It can feel like the next 60 days are about to happen to you rather than with you. So before things pick up too much speed, I wanted to remind you of something simple but powerful: You can catch a breath. A micro-moment of presence: Catching a BreathIf you've been practicing pausing, you know how transformative it can be. But during the holidays, formal pauses may feel almost impossible. Your anxiety may be telling you that you do NOT have five minutes to sit quietly, let alone, five seconds. But that's where catching a breath comes in, even during the holidays. It's even simpler than a full pause. It's a micro-moment of presence that you can practice anywhere:
One intentional breath. Just one. It's where you notice the inhale, notice the exhale, and reconnect to yourself before moving forward. It may sound almost too simple to matter. But these caught breaths can become anchors. They're the difference between surviving the season and actually being present for it. This Month's Blog: The Ripple EffectIf you've been noticing shifts since you started your pause practice—in your relationships, your boundaries, your sense of calm—this month's blog explores why that's happening and what it means. It's called "The Ripple Effect: How Your Pause Practice Changes Everything Around You," and I think it might be exactly what you need to read as we head into this full season. You can read it here: https://deshawnwert.us/blog/the-ripple-effect-how-practicing-your-pause-changes-everything-around-you A Quick Note About Black FridayI know your inbox is about to get flooded with sales and offers, and I want to be respectful of that. I will be sharing some Black Friday offerings with you later this month—resources and tools to support your continued growth and help you navigate the season ahead with more presence and less overwhelm. But I also know that not everyone wants promotional emails, and I completely respect that. If you'd prefer not to receive any Black Friday or promotional messages from me, you can opt out here: https://deshawn-wert-coaching.kit.com/7362750bf3 No hard feelings. No guilt. Just honoring your boundaries the same way I encourage you to honor them with everyone else in your life. You've Got ThisThe holidays can be beautiful and they can be hard, and they're often both at the same time. But you've been building something powerful with your pause practice. You know how to come back to yourself. You know how to catch a breath. That's going to serve you well in the weeks ahead. I'm here if you need support, resources, or just a reminder that you don't have to do this season perfectly. You just have to show up as yourself. With presence and warmth, DeShawn P.S. Seriously, if promotional emails aren't your thing, no worries at all. I'd rather have a smaller list of people who actually want to hear from me than a big list full of folks who dread seeing my name in their inbox. Take care of yourself first. ❤️ P.S.S. November is 'tech month.' and Impact Parenting is overing two live events delivering actionable insights and strategies to use right away -- for families navigating ADHD, anxiety, autism, challenges with technology, and more. Hi Reader As we step well into September, I want to share something that weighs on my heart, especially during this time of year: Emotional Labor. The transition from summer to fall would bring a familiar whirlwind of emotions and responsibilities that left me feeling not just busy, but bone-deep tired. It’s that exhaustion that sneaks up on you at the end of the day—not the good kind that comes from meaningful accomplishments, but a weariness that feels heavy and unrelenting. If you’ve ever...
